Album Review: Let's Go Sunshine

The Kooks! "Ah, what a sick band."- the response from a lot of music enthusiasts.

For those who grew up listening to the four-man band, their new album depicts just how much they have changed over their musical career.

Emerging into the limelight in 2005 with 'She moves in her own Way' and leaving 2006 with a two million-selling debut album 'Inside In/Inside Out', they were beginning to climb the long ladder to fame.

Soon after they were nominated at The BRIT Awards for the British Breakthrough Act.

After an unbelievable Greatest Hits Tour at the end of last year, fans twiddled their thumbs in trepidation over the mystery of a potential new album in 2018. It is no surprise that the new album lived up to their high expectations.

The Brighton band's enthusiasm seeps through the album, instantly making any listener fall in love with this amicable band.
It's pretty evident that songs such as 'All the Time' and "Pamela' will be instant hits.

However, songs such as "Honey Bee' exude a folk feel, similar to the Mumford and Sons.

Though I love the Kooks, I am aware that there is a slight notion around them. Many people either love them or hate them.

Some critics even described them as 'average' and Luke himself admitted he began to question some of the songs he had written.

-Please check out this interview, it is really intriguing and shows how honest and forthright Luke Pritchard is when speaking about fragile topics-

I also believe that, like many artists, they are becoming more 'mainstream', rather than the quirky indie band that they used to be.
